Clearwater Citadel Band

The beginning of the Salvation Army band was at the direct request of our founder William Booth. He had the vision to see its potential as a tool for evangelism & communicating with the ‘man in the street’, along with the possibility of bringing people into church.

The development of the Salvation Army brass band and its music enables it to be a vibrant and flexible unit.

From street corner playing Christmas tunes, to the worship meetings on Sunday mornings, to ministries at special events, the ‘army’ band continues to flourish.

Age too, is no barrier to playing in the band. Many people still learn to play at a very young age, learning from dedicated musicians who teach them from week to week. Here in Clearwater, we have a School of Music as well as musical instruction at a local elementary school.

The Clearwater Citadel Corps Band supports many local events and are a vital part of our music ministry.

Under the direction of Bandmaster Paul Bridges, the music played by the Clearwater Citadel Corps Band is largely a body of works written and/or arranged by Salvation Army musicians.  Many of the arrangements are those of traditional liturgical pieces.  The Band plays almost every Sunday as a part of our corporate worship in our Sunday Holiness Meetings.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Band please contact us and we will forward your request to our Bandmaster.
